fairy tales

If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales.
If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales.

wonder

He who can no longer pause to wonder
and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead;
his eyes are closed.

Dream-maculate (or the dream stained sky)

Are you listening my friend?
You know how much I hate these good byes
im willing to bide my time
but to do it every night
turns the lights of life into a whirligig—
taking lovers and dreamers for a spin

At only 12 degrees per day
you tease us until you show us your face
coming out in full bloom
exposing all the goods in your nude
make the nocturnal all weird and crazy
screams and moans through peeks and troughs
resound back and forth all over town

now that were past the waxing phase
lubricated and ready—

(Are you listening?)
You know how much I hate these goodbyes
(are you just being polite)
Are you being naughty or nice?
Are you dissembling?
You said you dont lie...
So, please don’t hurt me again tonight—
go slowly

Do tell
are you are tied to someone else?
or are you just a being a big flirt
Is this just a midnight tryst?
You say you want to be with me
but I feel the burn from the torque of your mind
spinning outside you and I

Is this your consolation?
the stars in my sky
as if sparkly tears bequeathed
like precious pearls falling down
collecting daily treasures
into the basket of my soul to sooth my heart aches

Even though
you know how much I hate these good byes
you still do it anyways every night

Maybe—maybe your a mute
blind and deaf to my desires
cus nobody could so cold hearted
or maybe you are the Roman goddess
dotting my dreams
but your body feels more like a giant iceberg
forever in my trajectory in space

Cocoon

Eagerly,
With eyes blinking with a flutter
of butterfly wings
she’s bides her time to live out a capricious dream
Softly,
Bubbles take rise
Underneath a wishing well
Gently,
Bursting between sleep and wake
Quickly
The sun and moon concede
to discussions of give-and-take
Surely,
All the while the earth rotates
Firmly,
She’s a young thing ready to “Boom it”
As soon as she grows out of her lonely shell
Quickly,
Before the weasels advance with a hearty appetite
Yeah, She’s young
but fortunately her schooling taught her well
and she aint about to buy what they sell
Suddenly,
She is on her own and fully grown.

The Rape of Innocence

The Rape of Innocence

Once when I was young and naïve
I had some innocence
Until I started attending school
And then my head hurt from
all the things I learned
So, I hide alone in my little room
And I cried
Feeling totally misunderstood

(Monday through Friday)
Wait your turn
Sit up straight
File in line
Raise your hand
That’s how the lessons began

The teachers piqued and probed my brain
Until it broke through my thick skin
Thus, I was no longer a Virgin
So, I cry
(yeah, I cried)
Because, now,
We are all just alike

Like fabric, it starts
With a single thread
Thus, I grew away from innocence
until it was dead
so the lessons spin in my head
like an irreversible ratchet

Sit up straight
File in line
Raise your hand…
Now I understand

Forget (and move on)

Forget about your sorrows
it’s not hard to do
just close your eyes
and think about tomorrow
and leave your troubles behind too
it isnt hard
just think like caterpillars do
Shed your skin
times five
then open your eyes
and wake up a butterfly
now you see how easy it is
to make your dreams come alive

la familia

Once upon a time there was a kid named Enrique who
got caught up in a little too much risqué before he even had a chance to grow up. Hence, he had a baby. Then another and another.
So, he got married and then dropped out of school.
Now he's working two jobs because
the family needs clothes and food.
He sure is the man of the house and
his place is fully understood.

But its all good
cus the love hes got is
life’s crowning jewel.

The Crown

They say you need money to get you by
But you cant take it with you when you die
Falling in love
is the real crown of life
Whether your rich or poor
Whether you are happy or sad
you know everything feels okay
When you cross your lovers path

When the moonlight
burns like a midnight fire of passion and desire
Thats the motion of two lovers lips
turn to face eachothers kiss
