Cocoon

Eagerly,
With eyes blinking with a flutter
of butterfly wings
she’s bides her time to live out a capricious dream
Softly,
Bubbles take rise
Underneath a wishing well
Gently,
Bursting between sleep and wake
Quickly
The sun and moon concede
to discussions of give-and-take
Surely,
All the while the earth rotates
Firmly,
She’s a young thing ready to “Boom it”
As soon as she grows out of her lonely shell
Quickly,
Before the weasels advance with a hearty appetite
Yeah, She’s young
but fortunately her schooling taught her well
and she aint about to buy what they sell
Suddenly,
She is on her own and fully grown.
