She Swings

Swing with me safely under a tree
our hearts can sing the high notes over the sky above
Swing with me to avoid a cold world down below
Swing with me
Swing high enough to touch the sky
Swing high enough to breath clouds and catch a butterfly
Swing with me safely from a tree,
while time whittles away our fears
from the evil things below our feet
Hold me tight and swing with me
high enough to push our feet above our knees
and catch a chance to be free—you and me
Swing safely from a tree and sing across the sky above
until we grow old
But down below is a world too cold
so she prefers to swing alone.
